We then got back to Ischia and back to the hotel. We quickly changed back into our bathing suits to go swimming! Once we got to the pool (conveniently located right outside of my door!) we realized that we had to wear swimcaps in the pool! It must be an Italian because they were all sporting them and there were signs posted everywhere. We ran back to our villa and grabbed our
showercaps, and went for a swim! The group of Americans were easily recognizable – we were the silly girls in the pool laughing about our shower caps! We took a quick dip in the fountain and then went back to get dressed for dinner!
Another five course meal, and it was time for a walk around the resort! We grabbed our cameras and took a photoshoot for the next hour, all around the grounds of the hotel! It was hilarious, and I will be sure to post all of those at a later time! We then retreated to the piano bar inside the main building and listened to some classy Italian and English piano songs. Once the pianoman realized he had an audience of five American girls, he played hits like YMCA and “New York, New York” and “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.”
Sunday morning came quickly, and after another fabulous continental breakfast, we hopped on the bus and headed to the port for our last ferry ride to Napoli. Once we docked, we headed for the city center. Napoli is the largest southern city in Italy and is famous for its pizza, café and pick pocketers. We tried to avoid the later at all costs, and decided to grab café at Cambrinus, the most famous café bar in Napoli. We sat down for a few minutes before doing a little shopping and heading for lunch. We
found Antica Pizzaria Ristorante - famous for the first Pizza Margarita! We also enjoyed our first REAL, AUTHENTIC caprese salad – defiantly the best meal I have had so far. They do NOT make pizza or salads in the states like this!We then rushed back to the port, boarded the bus and began the long drive home.
It was a weekend to remember, however we were very glad to get home to Perugia. The piazza was buzzing with people, and it was a shame that we were too exhausted to join in. However, we needed a good nights sleep after such an exhausting weekend!
